Mr. Toad's Mastering

Welcome to Mr. Toad's Mastering.

Mastering is the final stage of preparation of the audio master for your CD. All major label CD’s and most independent releases are mastered. Mastering is the process of taking a collection of songs and turning them into a coherent record. Additionally, the overall tone and volume of your record should be consistent with other releases in your genre. To achieve this, the mastering engineer combines the talent in his “ears” with extensive experience working on records utilizing the finest equipment available to make your release sound “like a record”.

Tardon Feathered and Ben Adrian are the mastering engineers. Mastering is our true passion in audio production; the intricacies of audio dynamics and timbre are a source of major fascination. Put that desire into a room with some of the most accurate monitoring possible and great tools and all the elements necessary for sonic alchemy are all present.

This spring Tardon will be moderating the Digital Voodoo panel at the Tape Op Conference in New Orleans, LA. It should be an entertaining and informative panel, with some very talented participants, discussing some of the "voodoo" aspects of digital recording. What better town to have that discussion in? Hope to see you there.
