Music Videos
Making music videos is possibly our most favorite thing we do (especially if we record the music as well!). Our core clientele at Mr. Toad's is the independent musician, artist and label. We've spent our entire production lives outside of the mainstream productions. We don't think or bill like a fancy production house yet we deliver the quality you expect within the most reasonable of budgets. We can handle the entire project from initial concept, through production and editing, and deliver finished product (at amazing prices). With a large soundstage and a mobile production truck we are comfortable shooting either in-studio or on-location, both audio and video.

Applesaucer - "Bar" shot at the Hotel Utah, SF, CA
This was a three camera shoot, at a live show. If you know the Utah, their stage lighting is like a single light bulb, so we brought all our own lighting in for the shoot. The band stopped in the middle of their set to lipsynch to the song three times and they were done. The final video was edited in about 40 hours. This song was from Applesaucer's debut album, which was nominated for a California Music Award in 2000 for Best Debut Album.
Land of Thin Dimes - "A Dynasty that Never Was"
This video tells some kind of very scary story about technology and death. If only the part where the yellow guy opened his mouth and all the crickets came out had the luxury of a second take . There is no "band footage" in this one and plenty of blue screen material. Every character in this video is unique and colorful and the "Foster Speaks" sequence is one of our brightest moments.
Liar "Everything Good"
In one of the most preposterous tasks ever conceived, this video was essentially shot with one camera, by filming the band playing that song - once - at a local gig. This was definitely not lipsynched. Then we took the footage and sliced it creatively to fit the studio version of the song. It is proof of what an amazing band Liar were that they played the arrangement almost identically to the recorded version. What a guitar solo!
